Become a Trustee

Help us make a real difference

Join The Harbour at an important time for the charity.

Demand for our services continues to grow, and we’re working hard to ensure that more people across Bristol can access support when facing serious illness, death and grief.
As we look to the future, we’re developing new ways to reach people, strengthen our fundraising, and build a sustainable organisation for the years ahead.

It’s an exciting time, but not without its challenges, and we’re looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. As a Trustee, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute your skills, experience and perspective to decisions that will help define the future of The Harbour and the support we provide across Bristol.

As a Trustee you will:
Help shape the future of The Harbour
Support our strategic growth and development
Work alongside a committed Board and leadership team
Use your skills and experience to make a meaningful difference

Who We’re Looking For
Whether you’re an experienced trustee or considering your first board role, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome trustee applications from people of all backgrounds and seek to build a diverse and inclusive Board that reflects the communities we serve. We value different perspectives, lived experience and professional expertise, and we believe these help make us a stronger and more effective Board.

Experience in business development, fundraising and community engagement would be helpful, but we are not looking for a particular type of CV or qualification. Just as important are your enthusiasm, sound judgement and commitment to our vision of helping people live well with death, dying and bereavement.
